Confortable appartement 3 chambres avec WiFi pour 8 personnes - FR-1-642-7

Fantastic appartment that is well serviced. Great area whatever the weather.

Pros: Fantastic location on 2nd floor with views up the valley toward Samoen - worth taking binoculars as it really is spectacular. Some of the Morzine area lifts visible in the far distance. Easy parking outside or under cover - although the allocated garage bay is actually under the next block. There is a very large free car park as well if it gets really busy. Property well prepared and instructions to bring own sheets/towels very clear in info - especially that all beds have single duvets, even the doubles. All electrics and appliances easy to use and worked well. Good that kettle and even a toaster provided - not all French appartments have these. Hot water coped with several showers and a bath or two each evening. Coffee filter jug and separate machine that takes Senseo paper pods - filter papers and pods sold in the nearby Sherpa. Weather was unseasonally warm so we didn't need to use the heating full-on but the flat was warm at all times and temp easy to adjust.

Cons: Not a criticism but the ski locker room was a bit different to what we're used to - not separate lockers but a lockable rack for the whole block. Suggest you bring your own padlocks as the 4 provided are pretty insubstantial. Note that there's nowhere secure to put your shoes - and they don't allow ski boots to be worn in the building. We just put the skis in the car overnight but they could easily have gone on the secure balcony as an alternative. Appartment ideal for 6 in 3 bedrooms. Glad we didn't need to use the fold out settee bed as it would have needed heavy furniture to be moved out of the way and left little space to move around in the living area. Wouldn't be ideal for 8 persons. Late winter 2023/24 season was unusually warm and for most of our stay it was not easy to ski into Morillon 1100 - had to get the chair lift down. Next time we'll carry lightweight shoes to put on at foot of piste and carry boots/skis downhill for the last bit. Over about 10 days the bottom of the piste retreated over 100m and became a bit of a mudbath - they put a lot of straw down and brought in snow to make going up straightforward. Became a bit of a farmyard but still fine. Been to this resort twice before in March and piste was intact then down into Morillon village. Normally takes about an hour to get to Flaine on skis but this year had to allow 2 hours each way and the route is not really suitable for beginners. Seems that climate change is having a heavy impact - first time we've seen this but the lift pass prices now offer no discount for buying multiple days (unless you get a full season pass). This tells you that the expectation is not to ski every day. Fortunately this area is brilliant for walking from the door and there are loads of trails.
