Dormio Resort Les Portes du Mont Blanc

Pros: We liked the location, great family friendly accommodation, free transport into Chamonix and cleanliness of the property.

Cons: No local shop or bread service during off season.

Pros: This was our third stay at this place. Clean, spacious apartments with wooden finishes. Friendly receptionists. I recommend it.

Cons: Cigarette smoke and the scent of Arabic perfumes coming from other balconies/rooms.

It was excellent

Pros: Check in was very good and arrangement to get your luggage up to the apartment very good. Superb view from the apartment. Very accommodating for pets.

Cons: Pillows rather uncomfortable fortunately we had our own in our vehicle

Good place to stay if you do not mind to travel by train to Chamonix. Great nature around.

Pros: Bigger appartment and balcony, Indor parking, connection to Chamonix, coffee machine nespresso, quiet place.

Cons: Rather smelly appartment ( probably carpet?), blinking led light in the bathroom, noisy neigbours. No shops in the village.

Pros: bad reception service. excellent room although not the cleanest.

Good experience

Pros: This is my second stay at Dormio, last year I had an apartment in building À, but this time I had apartment in section C. I appreciate the experience provided by Dormio and I would gladly return next year!

Cons: Everything was similar to what I knew and appreciated from last year, except for the couch which needs to be replaced in apartment C15 because it's almost unusable when it's retracted.

Pros: Location close to train station, cable car and Swiss border. Decent sauna, pool, hot tub and steam bath facilities. Guests are provided with amenity starter kit (dishwashing liquid, dishwasher tablets, cleaning brush, matches, shampoo and body wash). Kitchen is well equipped.

Cons: Shower water pressure in spa area is very weak. They do not replace your toilet paper if you run out. The nearest supermarket is not near but in Chamonix so best to come prepared.

Recommended place for family trips

Pros: Good location. Nice stay. You can find keys and get to your apartment even if you come late. Lots of free parking spaces nearby.

Cons: It is your duty to find some representative and then ask to pay city tax, get complimentary stuff etc. Their availability seems very limited. So if you need free train tickets etc from them, you have to take care of it yourself. Even if you book something in advance, you have to ask for it from on the help desk, e.g. baby cots. You also need to bring your toiletries, kitchen soaps tissue papers etc. As written in other reviews. I recommend to get even your own bedsheets and pillow covers. Their‘s were not very clean. You would enjoy the stay if you plan these things in advance.

Really enjoyable and peaceful

Pros: i loved the sauna amd steam room and the rooms had everything you need for a self catering holiday: They were very clean too. Given the price i found this extremely reasonable. The reception staff (Pauline) was super helpful and had loads of useful local information on hiking routes, shops, restaurants and all the rest. A great team, a great place, a tranquil location and great for the soul.
