Alpenrose Chamonix

Pros: There is no catering ie restaurant or breakfast provided. However, it is a short walk to a boulangerie and small supermarket a short walk away. The kitchens facilities were excellent so self catering is best.

Cons: Nothing really, but allow 20 mins for walk to town.

Good hostel but dorm room cannot be locked

Pros: Very clean except for when the unisex toilet had a spill and I stepped into it bare foot in the middle of the night. Hostel was warm throughout and showers were strong and hot. People were quiet at night (no parties).

Cons: Far from town centre and intercity bus stop. For some reason there was no key provided for my dorm room and the door was kept unlocked the whole time. With the entrance to the building always unlocked, and the entrance to the dorm hall open most of the time (there is a lock but people always leave the door open), I felt a bit insecure staying in a freely accessible room.

Pros: This is a cool place to stay. Super clean, perfect location with the cheapest supermarket near and the staff are amazing 🥇🏔️🌲☀️❄️

Comfortable and quite environment.

Pros: The building is very well maintained, new and clean bathrooms/ showers. The kitchen, bedrooms and bed sheets/blankets very clean and new.

Cons: Not central, but easy access to bus/transport.

Cheap Clean Comfortable Hostel

Pros: Excellent value. Very clean. Friendly owners. Good kitchen and large seating area. Lots of space in dormitory around beds - side cabinet and table, so easy to organise things such as drying ski gear! Hot shower was very hot and powerful. Drying room for snowboard was fine. I received a towel after asking. Perfect for what I needed.

Cons: 15min walk from centre, but this can feel quite long when in ski gear. Dormitory bedroom was quite loud, and woke me up when others entered and exited. Would be helpful to get a door that did not creak so much. Also, in the morning, I did not have a seat for breakfast, as the kitchen tables were full, but the side reception area (with MANY tables) was still closed until later in the morning. No issue at dinner when both open, only an issue for earlier breakfasts when everybody is rushing to the slopes.

Cosy alpine hotel

Pros: Friendly host, good location in the Chamonix with a great view of the alps from the bedroom window.

A good value for money stay

Pros: Well organised hostel, spacious bedroom (mixed dormitory) with enough space between beds and separations. It wasn't full, and apparently the top bunks are not usually rented out, which makes this comfortable.

Cons: The mattress had a bit of a plastic feel but overall the bed was comfortable. It is a 20 min fast walk to the centre of the town, but there is a local shop which helps.

Pros: Excellent. Near the bus stop with access to skiing. A supermarket about 100m down the road which was perfect. The shower room and toilets were clean. There was a kitchen to be able to cook too which had all utensils.

Pros: Super clean and quiet!!! If I ever in Chamonix, I will choose this hostel again.
