Hotel Val Joly

Great small family run hotel.

Pros: Great hotel and fantastic breakfast. Welcoming hosts who were kind enough to let me practice my French with them! Just a ten minute walk to the town centre (or about 20 min to the gondola) and bus stop just outside the hotel for the free shuttle bus to the town centre and gondola. We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Val Joly and would definitely recommend. Merci beaucoup!

Cons: It would have been nice to have a kettle in the room, but it was easy enough to buy hot drinks from the bar downstairs, so this wasn’t a big problem.

Clean, basic and friendly hotel

Pros: Lovely small family run hotel. Basic but clean and friendly and good value for money. 10min walk to the town on a pavement or bus stop outside (free ski bus every 30min ish). Enjoyed the walk but good to have a bus option. Great continental breakfast for 10 euros with plenty of choice. Would happily stay again. The bus takes you to bottom of the gondola (slopes) in about 20min and was easy to do. If you prefer to walk it, pavement all the way and it was a nice walk through the town.

Cons: There is no kettle in the room (does say kettle on booking.com) so not possible to have a cup of tea / coffee whenever you fancied! Another option if not in room, was to put a kettle in breakfast area and guests could make themselves a cup of tea there and take to the room. I did ask for tea one evening and was charged 4 euros for a tecup of tea. It would be nice to have an area to meet downstairs as we were a large party having booked 4 rooms. We did meet in the breakfast area one evening but the other evenings it was shut off as the hotel owners had a family gathering. These are small niggles and are only suggestions for improvement and I would stay again (and take a travel kettle maybe!)

Pros: Good breakfast, plenty of choice to set you up for a day of skiing.

Fab stay, value for money and only 5 mins to hot springs and cute little village

Pros: great location for the village and hot springs. stayed 1 night and would recommend. clean, tidy and very spacious.

Pros: Petit hôtel très sympa, très bien situé avec un grand parking devant. L'accueil est agréable, la chambre confortable. J'y retournerai avec plaisir.

Pros: A proximité de Chamonix. Hôtel sympathique et accueillant. La région regorge d'activités à faire.

Pros: L'accueil était très chaleureux et à l'écoute de mes besoins, l'auberge est située dans un quartier calme avec beaucoup de massages Spa autour, un cadre magnifique est idéal pour des vacances, un endroit de détente, à côté d'un restaurant indien avec des saveurs uniques

Cons: La tête de douche et le cadre extérieur en verre de la salle de bain peuvent avoir besoin d'être réparés, ce n'est pas vraiment un problème pour moi, un garçon, mais si vous êtes une fille, vous pourriez être un peu dérangé.
